UGANDA, Njeru: Zanzibar’s Karume Boys are the new CECAFA Under-15 Boys champions after a 4-3 post match penalties win over Uganda.
The thrilling final match at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru, Uganda on Thursday afternoon witnessed a 1-1 draw in normal period of play.
Karume Boys netted first in the 24th minute, forcing the hosts to roar from behind and level the deficit.
As the last whistle sounded, the scoreboard remain unchanged hence spot-kicks had to be played to split the duo.
It has been a remarkable cruise for the Zanzibar brave boys in the competition no wonder they are crowned new champs.
In a third finish match, Tanzania outclassed South Sudan 1-0 to end the contest on third place.
Uganda were eager to retain the silverware for the second time in a row but things have not worked their way.
